In the environmental sciences, “process” is another word for “method.”

Current science and field expertise provide the methods to gather and interpret info in A Healthier Home exams. On-site exams are performed by credentialed environmental home health specialists. When their examination is complete, they report back on what they find.

Here is what that 3-stage process looks like to our clients.

A Healthier Home’s Three Stage Examination Process

Each examination we perform consists of three stages: fieldwork, reporting, and consultation.

1. The fieldwork comes first.

We gather information from you, in advance, and in person, on the day of the exam. In other words, we identify any sick house challenges that are known to you, plus the outcomes you hope to achieve.

During our visit to your home, we conduct a full physical examination of the structure and its situation. We check thousands of data points and record what we find. Testing is conducted when needed, and with your approval. When the fieldwork is complete, we compile the findings for your review.

2. The report is where we gather crucial findings discovered during the home examination.

As part of our reporting, we provide clear details about the things we found.

To help you understand how these affect your home’s health, the report speaks to each of the major areas established by the 8 national standards. In addition, we include a supplemental section on the impact of electromagnetics, as supported by the Building Biology Institute.

3. The consultation is a standard part of our follow-up process.

Once you have the report in hand, we set a time to talk. For many of our clients, this is a huge benefit in working with us. We go through the report. Together, we target the issues that can’t wait. Then, we map next steps.

With our whole-house examinations, a mold inspection is included.

When mold is suspected, our specialists know that extra focus is needed where symptoms are worst. Testing occurs when and where needed. The scope of the problem is defined. We figure out where the mold started, where it is now, and how severe the situation really is.

A. Unfortunately, very little of what we do at A Healthier Home is covered in a standard home inspection.

Few, if any, details are shared that reveal the environmental health conditions of the house. That’s because state-licensed building inspectors ensure that construction meets local and national building codes and ordinances, zoning regulations, and contract specifications.
