Allergy Season #2 has left houses damp and full of mold allergens. Into November, windows get closed trapping all of those allergens inside. Outside air flushing of the house interior goes way down. The furnace promptly dries out the living space but the cooler places like basements, closets, crawl spaces, garages, and storage areas remain damp. Molds remain active in these cool parts of the house.
People quickly get sick indoors all over again. A mold swipe-down is in order. The house is in dire need of its Fall cleaning. This is like a Spring cleaning with a couple of differences:
1 Damp-Swipe to capture dusts and molds.
2 Swipe the surfaces you haven’t given attention to yet: Grooves, cracks, trim-work, refrigerator door gaskets, door jams, under and back sides of furniture, stored items, boxes, books, the insides of chests of drawers ( after pulling the drawers out). There are so many surfaces that rarely get cleaned that dusts and molds have piled up on.
You’ve got one last chance to remove these allergens before you decorate your house for the Holidays. Remove Summer’s mold allergens from the house. Otherwise, your respiratory system will be slowly filtering these from your indoor air all Winter long.
