Meet the Team
Owner & Founder – A Healthier Home, LLC
Rick Bayless
(Environmental Science, Rutgers University)
Rick Bayless, CIEC, HHS, JS, is the owner and founder of A Healthier Home, LLC. He is a pioneer in the healthy homes movement. As a result, he is an expert in more than one area. First, he is certified as a Building Biologist and Environmental Consultant (BBEC) by the international Building Biology Institute (BBI). Second, he is a board-certified indoor environmental consultant (CIEC) by the Indoor Air Quality Associates, as administered by the American Council of Accredited Certifications. Third, he is recognized by the North Carolina Department of Labor as a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Journeyman Specialist (JS). Also, he is designated a Healthy Homes Specialist (HHS) by the National Environmental Health Association. Since 2016, he is one of the first to work with doctors to improve symptoms of patients using healthy homes methods.

Scott Parker
(Architecture, Georgia Institute of Technology)
Scott Parker, BAP, LEED GA, is a BPI Certified Building Analyst and LEED® Certified Green Associate™. He has been an environmental health specialist with AHH since 2017. Clients seek out his expertise in architectural CAD design, building and materials. A voice for sustainability, he offers extensive knowledge on permaculture, watershed and landscape management, and energy efficiency. Today, Scott performs home healthiness exams. Also, he consults in the design and build phases of new and rehab structures.
Environmental Home Health Specialist
Bridget Miller
(Microbiology & Chemistry, MTSU)
Bridget Miller, CIE, analyzed tens of thousands of mold samples as a former senior biologist in a commercial laboratory. Then, in 2017, she earned the credential of Council-Certified Indoor Environmentalist (CIE) from the American Council for Accredited Certification (ACAC). Licensed in Florida as a mold assessor, she worked in the field for three years before moving to North Carolina. She joined A Healthier Home as an environmental health specialist in 2021. Today, she performs home health exams. Also, she consults on electromagnetic radiation. She shares concerns about its negative effects on people and the environment.
